B.A. (magna cum laude) Jewish Studies, French and Francophone Studies , International Studies
Hello,
a bit about me:
My name is Taylor Parker and I am a triple major in French and Francophone Studies, Jewish Studies, and International Studies- Europe Track. My interests have flourished during my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. Upon beginning my undergraduate studies, I had rather well-developed interests in health care. I graduated my high school nursing program as a certified nursing assistant licensed in the State of Florida. However, I have always had a curious nature and a keen desire to learn about people. I began college with four years of French study and continued in French coursework as way to balance my STEM-heavy pre-med coursework. Little did I know that I also have an intense passion for history and learning about its implications in a modern context, and I found myself strongly attracted to the rich corpus of literature offered in my French classes. A voracious reader and an avid learner, I decided to pursue my interests in literature to a more profound level. To my delight, learning another language allowed me to explore more about other cultures, histories, peoples, and critical historical moments which inform our modern world. In addition to these discoveries, I also learned a great deal about myself, and about new approaches to engage with perceived difference around me. My international education has molded me as an insatiable, global learner eager to interact with challenging tasks.
